I would like people to know that Free Software has lost a real friend.
While I ploughed ahead expanding the scope of the SQL Clinic project that
Pete hosted as his contribution to the Open Source movement, he quietly paid
the bills and added the extra equipment and software that I needed.
This is a tremendous loss and the SQL Clinic family is in utter shock.

Pete was a tireless advocate of intellectual freedom, social responsibility
and internationalism. Future versions of SQL Clinic will be dedicated to
the memory of my old friend and colleague. The Regina Project, founded and
hosted by Peter - will continue...

The partnership of Open Systems Consulting and Citadel Computer Consulting
(Peter's firm) will also continue. All of our clients will receive
uninterrupted services and support.

Pete: whatever shop you now work in - if it is not running Debian GNU/Linux,
I know it soon will be...please do what you can to ensure that the console
waiting for me is situated next to yours.

Good friend and fellow open source enthusiast, Peter Puckall died last
Thursday, February 21, 2002 at the age of 47. He was a stalwart
advocate of the open source software movement and one of the main
founders of the Regina Project, in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.

As the Regina project grew and continued to eat up Pete's hard drive
space, he would never get upset. He would always find room for Tom and
the other programmer's code. It was due to this tireless effort and
steadfastness that SQL-Clinic and other projects survived and continue
to survive.

I will always remember Puckall, as his friends called him. I salute
you, Puckall, my fallen brother in arms.
